Job summary

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Applied Psychologist for Walsall CAMHS to deliver highly specialist assessment, formulation and interventions for children, young people and families with complex needs. The role involves autonomous work within a multidisciplinary team, risk management and leadership responsibilities.

You will supervise trainee and qualified psychologists, provide supervision and training, and contribute to workforce development and service

Qualifications

• Post-graduate doctoral-level training in applied psychology accredited by the BPS (including psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology).
• HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist (Chartered status).
• Experience as a qualified psychologist in a CAMHS setting with diverse client groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for children, young people and families with complex needs.
• Undertake risk assessment and risk management, including safeguarding responsibilities.
• Deliver individual, family and group interventions; adapt approaches to meet needs.
• Provide expert psychological consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues and partner agencies.
• Work with health, education, social care and voluntary sector services for integrated care.
• Supervise and support trainee, assistant and qualified psychologists.
• Deliver training and contribute to workforce development.
• Lead service development, quality improvement, and research activities.
• Use psychology to inform service redesign and organisational change.
• Promote compassionate, recovery-focused care for children and families.
