Job Description:

HSE inspects certain workplaces and buildings. We also reach employers and workers through our guidance, communications, campaigns, and stakeholder organisations.

There are three permanent Band (SEO) posts available in the Applied Analysis and Insight Group (AAIG), part of the Engagement and Policy Division (EPD).

Two posts are based in AAIG’s Applied Regulatory Information unit, focusing on data analysis and application to HSE operations. One post is based in AAIG’s Research and Insight unit, focusing on market and social research to understand and address business issues.

All posts share these attributes:

  • Generating and supporting the application of actionable findings to improve HSE operations, policy, products, services, and communications.
  • Supporting AAIG and EPD to commission and effectively use research, analysis, and science delivered by HSE experts.
  • Managing and delivering your own portfolio of work and projects, and collaborating on larger projects with colleagues. Guidance will be provided.
  • Supporting and guiding colleagues, especially junior staff.
  • Collaborating with a wide range of colleagues across AAIG, EPD, and other HSE departments, including inspection, science, and building specialists.
  • Demonstrating curiosity and rigor to quickly understand new subjects, technical and legal aspects, and their implications for HSE, ensuring your analyses are well-informed, authoritative, and impactful.
