Job summary

Synopsys Inc., Theale, UK, seeks a highly motivated Application Engineer to support customers in Digital Design Verification, a critical stage of chip development. You will work with Sales, R&D, and field teams to help adopt and deploy verification solutions, support evaluations, and improve customer verification flows.

This is a high-impact, individual-contributor role across major UK accounts, with travel to customer sites typically one or two days per week.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog, UVM, coverage concepts and assertion-based verification.
• Experience with customer-facing activities such as pre-sales or technical support is desirable.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand verification needs and guide deployments.
• Support pre-sales activities: demos, evaluations, benchmarks, and methodology guidance.
• Improve testbench architectures and verification flows for customer projects.
• Debug RTL/gate-level and SystemVerilog/UVM environments and analyze code coverage.
• Collaborate with Sales to identify opportunities and communicate customer feedback to R&D.
