DWP Digital is seeking a Senior Application Operations Engineer to join our Centralised Application Support Services (CASS) and help keep business-critical applications reliable and performing at their best.

You will drive automation and service improvements while mentoring engineers, in a hybrid working model across hubs in the UK. The role offers flexible hours and a strong focus on work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the technical application support of services and implementing improvement initiatives to deliver a quality service.
• Ownership and initiative demonstrated by working with stakeholders to achieve service outcomes.
• User-focused approach with ability to manage multiple competing priorities to meet customer outcomes.
• Holistic view of applications, their interfaces and dependencies to diagnose issues and coordinate resolutions across services.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

• Previous experience of managing the technical application support of services focusing on your implementation of improvement initiatives to deliver a quality service.
• Ownership and initiative - Evidence of working with other stakeholders to ensure service outcomes are achieved.
• User Focused - Evidence of managing multiple competing priorities and the techniques used to ensure customer outcomes are met.
• Service Focused - Ability to take a holistic view of applications, their interfaces and dependencies to diagnose issues and coordinate resolution activities across multiple services.

From solving complex technical issues to driving automation and service improvements, you'll work with cutting-edge technologies while helping shape the future of digital services and mentoring the engineers around you.

Location:

You’ll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool or Newcastle whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working:

We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay:

We offer competitive pay of up to £46,547.

Pension:

You’ll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth over £12,000 per year.

Holidays:

A generous leave package starting at 25 days rising to 31 days over time.

You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
