We are seeking a technically proficient Senior Application Engineer – PRIM Applications to join our Asia Regional Application Specialist Team. This role focuses on providing advanced technical support, conducting diagnostic testing, and delivering training related to high voltage assets, including power transformers, instrument transformers, switchgear, rotating machines, and ancillary equipment. The position is to be located in our OMICRON Service Center in Hong Kong or Singapore.
o Provide expert-level technical support for OMICRON products and services, particularly in primary testing and diagnostic equipment for high voltage assets.
o Conduct on-site diagnostic measurements and guide customers through testing procedures.
o Support measurement data analysis and assist in evaluating power system apparatus conditions.
o Develop and deliver training sessions on electrical theory, diagnostic methods, and application of OMICRON equipment.
o Create technical documentation and application notes to support customer understanding and effective use of products.
o Support the marketing & sales activities of OMICRON by actively performing on-site sales demos, participating in trade shows, user meetings and workshops.
o Stay updated on the latest diagnostic techniques and tools relevant to high voltage equipment.
o Collaborate with product development teams to provide feedback on product performance and customer requirements.
o Support regional initiatives by contributing technical expertise to workshops, user meetings, and other events.
o Assist in coordinating technical activities across application fields such as instrument transformers, power transformers, and circuit breakers.
o Proactively conduct customer visits to support sales of primary testing and diagnostic equipment for high voltage assets.
o Collaborate with the BDO Prim team on technical business development initiatives, including the evaluation of new diagnostic technologies, development of application strategies for high-voltage assets.
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems, with a focus on diagnostic testing and monitoring of high voltage assets.
· Proficiency in diagnostic methods such as Power Factor (PF), Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA), Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA), Dielectric Frequency Response Analysis (DFR), and Partial Discharge (PD).
· Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex technical data.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
· Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
· Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, self-driven with a great sense of responsibility and capability to work independently.
· Enjoy working in a small team environment with international roots.
· Positive, proactive and being a good team player.
· Good organizational, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
· Experience with OMICRON testing solutions.
· Familiarity with regional standards and practices in high voltage diagnostics.
· Multilingual abilities, Mandarin, are advantageous.
