Job Description:

Leading systems integrator is seeking a Sales Applications Engineer to join their busy team. Automation project experience is essential. Functional Safety, Cyber Security, or Drive Systems experience is highly advantageous.

Salary up to £65,000 + Car Allowance/Company Car,

Hybrid Working available.

Applications Engineer – The Role:

• Undertake site surveys, engage with sub-contractors, write tenders & produce costings
• Engage with customers, engineering teams & internal sales teams to provide high levels of technical support
• Act as a key interface between sales & engineering teams to provide technical support to the sales team
• Prepare quotations & proposals, including estimation of resources & equipment, and preparation of system technologies
• Develop technical material to support proposals
• Provide high-quality technical support to the sales team
• Some UK & overseas travel may be required

Applications Engineer – The Person:

• Preferably qualified to degree level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering
• Previous experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of AC, DC & Servo VSDs, PLC software, SCADA, HMIs, MES / MIS
• Strong technical experience in automation solutions, especially Drives, Controls, PLC, or Networking, used in heavy industrial environments (e.g., Steel, Paper, Marine)
• Ability to configure systems based on customer requirements
• Practical experience with drive technologies across industrial sectors is advantageous
• Ability to develop high-quality technical proposals
• Confident, proactive, organized
• Valid UK driving license & passport

This role is suitable for candidates residing in the Midlands, Shropshire, or North West regions of the UK.

It may also suit Control Engineers, Proposals Engineers, or Technical Sales Engineers who enjoy client contact and concepting.
