Job summary

Electronic Arts seeks a Senior Reverse Engineer I to analyze cheats across PC, mobile, and consoles within the SPEAR team. You will perform anti-cheat assessments, review source code, and help harden our games against hack tools with rigorous testing and documentation.

You will develop automation tools and contribute to scoping documents for upcoming assessments, partnering with EA game teams to reduce cheat variants and improve security across EA's titles.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ARM architecture.
• Knowledge of OS internals for Windows, Android & Linux.
• Knowledge of OS fundamentals (processes, threads, virtual memory).
• Read x86/x64 assembly language.
• Experience with debuggers such as WinDbg, x64dbg, OllyDbg, or gdb.
• Experience with disassemblers such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, or radare2.
• Understand three or more of C++, C#, Java, or .NET CIL.
• Knowledge of cryptography and obfuscation techniques.
• Drive change throughout the SPEAR organization.
• Background in Secure Platform Engineering & Anti-Cheat.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer obfuscated cheats for PC, mobile and consoles.
• Document and report on cheat functionality analyzed.
• Solve technical problems in the cheating space.
• Create anti-cheat assessment scoping docs and test cases.
• Perform anti-cheat assessments of pre-release products.
• Advise game teams on reducing cheat classes.
• Develop tools, scripts, and extensions for automation and reverse engineering.
• Identify cheat variants that defeat mitigations and suggest solutions.
