Job summary

Ingenico is seeking a Senior Android Developer to design, build, and maintain high-quality Android applications for specialized devices in high-reliability, transaction-driven environments.

Based in Dalgety Bay, Scotland, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, own features from design to delivery, and contribute to architecture and code quality while focusing on performance and secure development practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Android development in enterprise, POS, embedded, or hardware-integrated environments.
• Strong Kotlin expertise; Java is a plus.
• Experience with Jetpack, Compose, and Coroutines/Flow.
• Understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Experience with REST APIs, SDK integrations, and IPC/AIDL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and testing best practices.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams.

The scope

Experience & Requirements

• 5+ years of Android development experience (enterprise, POS, embedded, or hardware-integrated environments preferred)
• Strong expertise in Kotlin (Java is a plus)
• Solid experience with Jetpack, Compose, and Coroutines/Flow
• Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)
• Experience with REST APIs, SDK integrations, and IPC/AIDL
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and testing best practices
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, or regulated environments
• Knowledge of EMV, ISO8583, or transactional systems
• Experience with resilient / offline-first architectures
• Familiarity with secure development practices and sensitive data handling
