Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Pleo. We are currently looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer in Portugal, Spain, UK.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll play a critical role in shaping a modern, trusted, and scalable analytics infrastructure. Working at the intersection of engineering and data strategy, you'll develop robust data models, contribute to semantic layers, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to power impactful decision-making. This is a high-impact role where you'll bring clarity to complex data, champion best practices in modeling, and support a thriving data culture across the organization. If you're driven by autonomy, scalability, and collaboration-this role offers both challenge and opportunity in a fast-evolving product environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and implement scalable dbt models that translate complex business logic into clear, documented datasets.
  • Ensure high data quality by establishing robust testing, validation, and monitoring practices.
  • Contribute to the semantic layer (e.g. LookML) to align and unify key business metrics.
  • Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and business teams to clarify requirements and improve access to trustworthy data.
  • Identify reusable logic and promote consistent modeling across domains and teams.
  • Support warehouse governance through naming conventions, clear documentation, and data accessibility.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the data architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and alignment with evolving business needs.
Requirements
  • 4-6+ years of experience working with modern data stacks, especially with dbt, BigQuery, and semantic modeling tools like Looker.
  • Expertise in building layered, reusable data models that support self-serve analytics.
  • Strong grasp of best practices in data modeling, performance optimization, and version control.
  • Ability to scope and execute projects independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Proactive mindset-anticipating issues, advocating for improvements, and maintaining high standards in model quality and documentation.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible insights.
  • Experience supporting analysts, mentoring peers, and aligning data efforts across multiple teams.
Benefits
  • Your own Pleo card - no more out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Monthly lunch allowance or in-office catering (depending on location).
  • Private health insurance for mental and physical well-being.
  • 25 days of paid vacation, plus national public holidays.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • Option to buy 5 additional vacation days via salary sacrifice.
  • Access to MyndUp mental health & well-being support.
  • LinkedIn Learning access to fuel continuous personal and professional development.
  • Paid parental leave for all family types.
  • A friendly, international, and inclusive company culture.
