Job summary

Valneva SE in Livingston, UK, is seeking a Senior QC Technician (Analytical) to supervise analytical testing for raw materials, in-process, and intermediates in a GMP environment. You will provide technical expertise in analytical assays and help drive timely release of materials.

You will oversee day-to-day lab operations, ensure compliance with SOPs and QMS, and support continuous improvement across QC processes while aligning with the Analytical Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in QC laboratory environment within GMP and QA systems.
• Ability to prioritise, organise and schedule work in a busy lab.
• Experience writing SOPs and working to SOP documentation.
• Extensive QMS experience including OOS, Change Control, Deviations.
• Experience with biological assays and reference standard management.
• Experience leading a team and liaising with external bodies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule and execute raw material, stability and in-process analytical testing.
• Provide technical expertise in analytical procedures.
• Apply cGMP in testing and release of materials.
• Train and ensure competency of QC analysts in procedures.
• Develop and report quality metrics for continuous improvement.
• Write QA documentation including SOPs, OOS/OOT, deviations, CAPA.
• Represent QC in cross-functional planning and batch release.
• Support Analytical Manager and SME activities.
• Respond to deviations and ensure lab readiness.
• Assist after-hours testing and production schedule.
