Job Description:

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone to be based in London with strong financial modelling skills, sector knowledge, and a pro-active attitude who can guide / mentor junior analysts and interns while supporting the execution of M&A mandates, strategic advisory, and capital markets transactions.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  1. Preparation and maintenance of detailed financial models
  2. Contribution to valuation analysis and strategic assessments
  3. Conduct industry and company research to support business development and origination efforts
  4. Produce high-quality client materials including pitch-books, information memoranda, and sector insights
  5. Play an active role in the execution of M&A deals
  6. Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams within Soc Gen, including capital structure, ratings advisory, project finance, and ECM
  7. Exercise sound judgment in prioritizing tasks, escalating issues when necessary, seeking guidance, and meeting deadlines across multiple projects
  8. Supervise and support junior analysts and interns, review their work, provide feedback, and assist in their professional development

Profile required

PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline. Advanced qualifications (MSc) are advantageous.
  • Experience in Investment Banking or related Financial Services environment with exposure to energy and/or infrastructure sectors, specifically M&A transactions.
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking with ability to synthesize complex information quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Fluent English is required; additional European languages are beneficial but not essential.
  • A proactive and organized approach to work with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset with willingness to take ownership and accountability.

Familiarity with European regulatory frameworks, market structures, and industry dynamics within the PUI sector is an advantage.
