What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will focus on supporting the London based OTC Derivative and Structured Product desks, covering Credit, Rates and Equity.

You will gain a deep understanding of the products and system infrastructure, allowing you to provide best-in-class trade execution to RBC's investment professionals and the highest degree of white-glove service to our clients.

What will you do?

  • Day-to-day emphasis is on support of complex transactions for Credit, Rates and Equity Derivatives, along with Structured Products. Also supporting the hedging conducted by these desks, covering a wide range of asset classes. Product proficiency is required to interpret economics, understand guidelines, and develop processes.
  • Provide a central point of contact for the business, working closely with Sales, Trading, Clients and internal functional groups.
  • Where required, perform validation of trade bookings, ensuring complete accuracy for downstream processing.
  • Perform trade enrichment from F/O instruction.
  • Manage trade lifecycle events, ensuring accuracy of booking in the relevant system for downstream processing, managing the client communication for these events when required.
  • Take the necessary action to assist with resolving trade and cash breaks, ensure F/O are made aware when required and that the BCS escalation procedures are followed.
  • Perform data reconciliations as required and in line with team procedures.
  • Assist in facilitating the setup of new broker/counterparty/client accounts within the relevant systems.
  • Provide expertise and input into new project/business/initiatives.
  • Continually strive for process improvement, identifying opportunities to improve for discussion within team meetings and 1 to 1's
  • Ensure all tasks are completed on a daily basis and correctly captured on the teams EOD process.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with OTC Derivatives or Structured Products and the relevant events associated with these trades
  • Knowledge or Regulatory Requirements within the derivative trading landscape - i.e. Dodd Frank, EMIR, MiFID II, PTMM, etc.
  • Technical Proficiency in financial systems and exchanges: Bloomberg Terminal, Murex, Sophis, DTCC TradeServ, ICE, LCH
  • Experience of downstream processing of OTC Derivatives or Structured Products.
