Canaccord Genuity - Global Capital Markets is seeking a results-driven M&A professional to join the Financial Institutions Group in London. You will support origination and execution of advisory transactions, delivering rigorous valuations, complex financial models and client-ready materials.

You will collaborate with senior bankers, mentor Analysts and Interns, and help ensure smooth project execution while addressing issues promptly. A strong background in FIG M&A is essential.

Qualifications

• Three-plus years of M&A experience from a reputable IB or boutique.
• Degree level education with a 2:1 or higher.
• CISI Level 3 Corporate Finance or CA qualification advantageous.
• High numeracy and strong analytical capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Superior attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsabilités

• Undertake valuations using relative, LBO and DCF methods and present results to the deal team.
• Build detailed financial models and assess transaction impacts.
• Analyse industry trends and commercial dynamics of targets.
• Draft and review marketing materials and client-facing documents.
• Coordinate inputs from project team and clients to refine materials.
• Support VP and Directors to manage transaction processes and client meetings.

As part of our Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team, you will play a key role in delivering high quality financial advisory services to a diverse range of clients across the financial services sector.

Working closely with Vice President and Managing Directors, you will support the origination and execution of corporate advisory transactions, taking responsibility for delivering analytical insights and client-ready materials. The role also offers the opportunity to mentor and develop Analysts and Interns, contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the team.

The Role

• Undertaking valuations of businesses using a variety of methodologies, including relative valuation techniques, leverage buyout models and discounted cash flow analyses, and presenting and discussing the results with the project team, clients and prospective clients;
• Undertaking detailed financial modelling and analysis including valuation and assessing the financial impact of transactions;
• Analysing industry and sector trends, commercial analysis of individual businesses and case studies of transactions;
• Drafting and reviewing marketing materials and other documentation including pitches, teasers, information memorandums, management presentations, strategic review papers, valuation papers and admission / prospectus documents;
• Collating comments from the project team, clients and other advisers on materials produced and working with the team to produce revised materials; and
• Involved in transaction process management, supporting Vice Presidents to ensure projects run smoothly, anticipating and addressing potential issues/complexities in a timely manner; expected to attend most meetings, and to work directly with the client’s Finance Director and other senior management.

Our Ideal Candidate

• At least three years experience in M&A from a reputable Investment Bank/Boutique, ideally within the FIG sector team or qualification as a Chartered Accountant within the financial services division of one of the Big 4 followed by M&A experience with a reputable Investment Bank / Boutique.
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent with a minimum 2:1 grade.
• Completion of CISI Level 3 Certification in Corporate Finance or a qualification as a Chartered Accountant would be advantageous.
• Highly numerate.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbally
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Highly organised and reliable, self-starter, motivated and ambitious.
• Team player capable of fitting in with the culture.
• Strong valuation and financial modelling capabilities.
• Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
