Job summary

Smithers in Shawbury, Shropshire, is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Medical Device Testing division. The role centers on extractables and leachables testing, leveraging GC-MS or LC-MS to generate robust analytical insights for cutting‑edge projects.

You will develop and troubleshoot chromatographic methods, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and cGMP. This permanent role offers a comprehensive benefits package and flexible working hours in a global testing

Qualifications

• Experience with GC-MS or LC-MS analyses.
• Strong chromatographic method development and troubleshooting.
• Experience in small molecule identification and Met-ID is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain GC-MS or LC-MS instrumentation.
• Interpret complex qualitative data from GC-MS or LC-MS analyses.
• Develop and troubleshoot chromatographic methods.
• Mentor and coach junior staff while ensuring quality compliance (ISO 17025, cGMP).
