Job summary

Smithers, a multinational leader in testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, seeks a Senior Analyst in our Medical Device Testing division. You will operate GC-MS or LC-MS instruments, interpret complex data, and develop robust chromatographic methods within a dynamic Chemistry Department.

Ideal candidates have strong MS expertise, experience with ISO 17025 and cGMP, and a track record mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with GC-MS or LC-MS for qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Develop and troubleshoot chromatographic methods.
• Knowledge of small molecule identification using MS is highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

We are excited to offer a permanentopportunity for a Senior Analyst to join our growing Chemistry Department. This role will primarily focus on extractables and leachables testing and is an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain GC-MS or LC-MS instrumentation.
• Interpret complex qualitative data from GC-MS or LC-MS analyses.
• Develop and troubleshoot chromatographic methods.
• Mentor and coach junior staff members.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, such as ISO 17025 and cGMP.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven expertise with GC-MS or LC-MS technologies.
• Strong background in chromatographic method development and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in small molecule identification, mass spectrometry, or metabolite identification (Met-ID) is highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
