About the department:

Aberdeen’s Finance Squad sits within the Corporate Technology Office, this is responsible for managing Aberdeen's core Finance systems with Oracle being its Strategic tool of choice. Aberdeen is live with Oracle Financials (GL, AP, AR, FA) & Oracle ERP Cloud solutions, including Planning, Financial Consolidation & Close (FCCS), and Enterprise Data Management (EDM). We have an exciting roadmap ahead of us to further enhance our systems architecture over the next 3 years and embed and enhance ways or working.

About the role:

We are looking for a highly capable and experienced Senior Analyst with deep expertise in Oracle ERP to join our enterprise systems team. This role will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing our financial planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities through Oracle ERP Cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and technology, with hands-on experience in Oracle ERP modules and a passion for driving performance through data and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of Oracle ERP solutions across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Modules.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.

Conduct gap analysis and recommend system improvements or process changes.

Support Oracle ERP upgrades, patches, and integrations with other enterprise systems.

Develop and execute test plans, including unit, system, and user acceptance testing.

Provide end-user training and support documentation.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.

Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of ERP initiatives.

Stay current with Oracle ERP updates and industry best practices.

About the candidate:

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working within the Oracle ecosystem, with significant exposure to configuring and developing core Oracle modules. They will have successfully managed the systems requirements definition and build for key projects. They will have a strong continuous improvement focus, with high attention to detail, the ability to work independently and across a wide range of stakeholders, and a commitment to deliver great service.

Oracle ERP Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Oracle ERP modules (e.g., Financials, Procurement, SCM), including both on-premise and Oracle Cloud applications.

Business Process Understanding: Strong grasp of end-to-end business processes across finance, procurement and supply chain, with the ability to translate business needs into system solutions.

Technical Proficiency: Skilled in SQL, Oracle reporting tools (BI Publisher, OTBI), data migration (FBDI, ADFdi), and integration platforms (e.g., Oracle Integration Cloud).

Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver effective, data-driven solutions.

Stakeholder & Project Management: Experience managing cross-functional projects, engaging with stakeholders, and coordinating with vendors and Oracle support.

Documentation & Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to document processes, create user guides, and deliver training to non-technical users.
