Job summary

SmartSearch is seeking a Compliance Manager to advise the SmartSearch Group on regulatory compliance, product and operational controls, and client-sector regulatory change across KYC, KYB, AML, sanctions and identity verification services.

The role emphasizes strengthening oversight across the Group, ensuring high standards, adherence to policies, and effective responses to regulatory developments affecting SmartSearch Group and its clients.

• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to challenge constructively.
• Highly self-motivated, proactive and organised with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other productivity tools.
• Ability to horizon scan and translate regulatory change into practical business impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall compliance oversight across SmartSearch Group’s products, managed services and client-facing compliance solutions.
• Lead certification, accreditation and assurance activities with regulators, auditors and other external bodies.
• Act as principal compliance subject matter expert on AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud prevention, anti-bribery and corruption, tax evasion, digital identity and data protection.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Operations, Legal, Information Security, Sales and Client Success to ensure compliant, scalable products and services.
• Monitor performance, complaints, quality metrics and MI to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Oversee day-to-day compliance operations including handling complex client queries and escalation decisions.
• Drive change management across policy, process and technology, coordinating with vendors and stakeholders.
• Lead regulatory change management and horizon scanning to keep materials current.
