Job summary

Good Growth in London is seeking a Senior Policy and Programme Officer to develop and deliver policies and projects that support the Mayor’s ambition to improve London’s air quality. You will work with GLA colleagues, boroughs and partners to turn technical evidence into practical solutions with measurable outcomes.

You will lead the delivery of complex programmes, manage performance and budgets, and provide clear advice to the Mayor and senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience in air quality, sustainable transport, or related environmental policy.
• Ability to analyse and interpret air quality data for urban areas.
• Ability to use office and statistical software; reporting skills.
• Experience delivering project-based work and clear, concise reports/presentations.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a portfolio of air quality work and Mayoral priorities.
• Manage air quality projects with GLA and external partners; oversee consultants.
• Build relationships with government departments, boroughs, international orgs, and partners.
• Collaborate across the GLA Group for joined-up outcomes.
• Provide timely advice on air quality to the Mayor and senior stakeholders.
• Draft briefings, reports, and responses to Mayoral and Assembly questions.
• Stay updated on air quality policy, legislation, and evidence; inform decisions.
• Support development and delivery of policies and programmes tied to Mayoral priorities.
• Ensure London's diverse communities are considered in policy development.
