Job description

We are partnering with a leading automotive client in Coventry seeking an experienced Senior Air Intake Systems Engineer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design and validation of innovative air induction architectures across hybrid and internal combustion engine platforms.

You’ll oversee system-level integration from concept through to certification, employing your expertise in DVP and DFMEA strategies to ensure technical excellence and reliability. The position involves designing optimized airflow pathways, including intake manifolds, resonators, filters, and sensors, while collaborating with CAE, CFD, and CAD teams to refine fluid dynamics, packaging, and NVH considerations.

Key responsibilities include managing cross-functional deliverables, ensuring compliance with global standards, and guiding technical reviews. You’ll also mentor team members and contribute to establishing best practices in intake system engineering.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8 years’ experience in air induction or powertrain systems, with proficiency in CFD (STAR-CCM+, Converge CFD), CAE (GT-Power), and a strong background in intake acoustics, flow optimisation, and hybrid packaging challenges. A degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Thermal Engineering is essential.
