Job summary

Thrive SW in the Southwest is seeking a Senior Air Conditioning / HVAC Engineer to service and maintain commercial sites across the region. The successful candidate will work within an established service team, performing PPM, fault finding and installations.

You will need a strong HVCA background, F‑Gas Category 1, and the ability to work independently on multiple site locations. A company van is provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Air Conditioning Engineer or Senior HVAC Engineer.
• F‑Gas Category 1 qualification is essential.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience with split systems, VRF/VRV, AHUs, FCUs and ventilation.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Providing technical support to colleagues and sharing knowledge.

Senior Air Conditioning / HVAC Engineer

Covering site in the Southwest
£45,000-£50,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer to join an established service and maintenance team, covering commercial sites throughout the South West.

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial air-conditioning and HVAC systems.
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs across split systems, VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, FCUs and ventilation equipment.
• Completing air-conditioning installations, replacements and associated works.
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Carrying out inspections and performance checks to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Identifying defects and recommending remedial works, upgrades and improvements.
• Undertaking refrigerant handling in accordance with F‑Gas regulations and industry standards.
• Carrying out associated plumbing or electrical fault-finding where competent and appropriate.
• Completing service reports, maintenance records and compliance documentation accurately.
• Liaising with clients and site teams to coordinate works and minimise disruption.
• Providing technical advice and support to colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping resolve more complex faults.
• Working independently and using sound technical judgement to determine the most appropriate solutions.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and company procedures.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Air Conditioning Engineer or Senior HVAC Engineer.
• F‑Gas Category 1 qualification - essential.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial air-conditioning and HVAC systems.
• Experience working with split systems, VRF/VRV, AHUs, FCUs and ventilation systems.
• Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs and installations.
• The ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Multi‑skilled experience, particularly plumbing or electrical fault‑finding, is desirable.
• The ability to support and guide colleagues when required.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
