Job summary

Meridian Cambridge is seeking a Senior Technical AI Safety Research Manager to support AI safety programmes and mentor researchers in Cambridge, UK. This role involves scoping research projects and helping the team flourish in a high-trust environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience on a top fellowship and strong familiarity with the AI safety landscape. They will also be responsible for facilitating impactful research proposals and ensuring researchers have the resources they need.

Qualifications

• A strong commitment to acting on the most serious risks from advanced AI.
• Strong empathy, and a desire to help other researchers flourish.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, or supervising researchers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Scope and review research projects for MARS fellows and Visiting Researchers.
• Provide technical feedback on proposals, drafts, and research plans.
• Run regular check-ins with researchers; identify and unblock obstacles.
• Connect researchers with relevant people, papers, and opportunities.
