We are a crowdfunded company with a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers, committed to creating the “Best Damn Space Sim Ever”. We value exceptional and diverse talent.

As a Senior AI Programmer, you will work with our custom engine and internal tools within a multidisciplinary environment comprising industry veterans. Your goal will be to develop systems and behaviors for our AI agents.

The AI for Star Citizen and Squadron 42 aims to create a highly realistic, expansive, and content-rich world. Achieving this requires close collaboration with game designers, level designers, animators, audio programmers, and all members of the Cloud Imperium family.

Utilizing the latest PC hardware, technology, and APIs, we develop extensive, realistic, and systemic features for agents to interact believably with the environment and players, creating a lifelike space simulation.

Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games develops cutting-edge video games that challenge expectations. We are currently working on Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. Responsibilities:

1. Implement high-quality, scalable, and robust AI systems to enhance immersive gameplay experiences.
2. Mentor AI programmers, promote engineering best practices, and foster technical excellence.
3. Collaborate with designers, artists, and QA teams to align AI behaviors with the game’s vision and player experience.
4. Identify and mitigate technical risks, applying advanced AI techniques to expand in-game intelligence.
5. Optimize and maintain AI systems for efficiency, scalability, and stability within a large, shared codebase.
