Job summary

Currys plc London Campus at Waterloo is seeking a data engineer to join the Tech and Transformation team. You’ll build and maintain data pipelines processing billions of events daily, spanning batch and streaming systems, and develop AI-powered solutions.

Collaborating with product and domain teams, you’ll implement IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation and manage CI/CD for data apps. Hybrid working with monthly in-person meetings and application via [e-mail].

Qualifications

• Strong experience building production-grade data pipelines at scale.
• Confident with Python and SQL and hands-on data processing in live environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or GCP and containerisation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines that process billions of events daily across batch and streaming systems
• Develop AI-powered solutions including intelligent agents using Databricks Agent Bricks
• Setup infrastructure as code for data and AI platforms, keeping everything scalable and reproducible
• Create monitoring and alerting systems that protect data quality, model performance and pipeline reliability
• Optimise data processing jobs to improve performance and cut costs
• Partner with product and domain teams to deliver new data features and agent-driven tools
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for data and AI applications
• Troubleshoot production issues and apply permanent fixes to stop problems recurring
• Contribute to shared engineering standards and best practices across the team
