Xelix is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to shape AI systems and technical direction. You will lead the design and delivery of production-grade AI solutions—combining ML, LLMs, and robust engineering practices to deliver high-impact products.

We’re a fast-paced scale-up with a focus on reliable, scalable systems. This role offers hybrid work with two days in our Hoxton office, and a strong emphasis on architecture, mentorship, and practical AI tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and deploying ML/AI systems in production.
• Strong end-to-end system design skills.
• Experience with LLMs, agents and evals.
• Leadership and mentoring of engineers.
• Ability to balance performance, cost and complexity.

Responsabilités

• Design and own end-to-end AI systems from problem framing to production deployment.
• Architect complex agent-based workflows, tool ecosystems, and multi-step reasoning systems.
• Decide on model strategy, including ML vs LLM vs hybrid approaches.
• Define evaluation frameworks and metrics for reliability and improvement.
• Ensure production systems are scalable, observable, and robust.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering/AI standards across the team.
• Drive adoption of AI tooling to improve productivity without sacrificing quality.
• Collaborate with product and leadership to shape what we build and why.
