Xelix is hiring an AI Engineer to design and build production AI systems, combining ML, LLMs, and strong software engineering. You will work across documents, email, and financial data to create reliable, scalable AI workflows.

The role focuses on production-grade systems rather than prototypes, using modern AI tools to boost productivity while maintaining high standards. Hybrid work with a dog-friendly Hoxton office is offered.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years building and shipping ML/AI systems into production.
• Strong engineering skills: clean, testable Python and solid software design.
• Experience with AI/ML breadth: traditional ML and/or LLM systems.
• Data skills: SQL and pandas for real-world data handling.
• AI-native workflow: proficient with AI-assisted coding tools.
• Collaborative, cross-functional working style.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production AI systems, including agent-based workflows and multi-step reasoning.
• Develop and adapt models across text, vision, and structured data; fine-tuning and hybrid approaches.
• Work with hosted and self-hosted models; participate in cost and performance trade-offs.
• Write clean, maintainable Python and contribute to scalable, observable systems.
• Design evaluations and measure performance; iterate with real-world feedback.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver high-impact features.
