Senior AI Engineer - Generative AI and Search - Artificial Intelligence

Bloomberg's Engineering AI department is seeking a Senior AI Engineer with expertise in Generative AI, Search, and Natural Language Processing to join our AI Experiences team. Located in London, this role involves developing innovative AI-driven products that enhance search, discovery, and workflow solutions using technologies such as transformers, large language models, and dense vector databases.

Our team is responsible for building high-accuracy, low-latency AI systems that process vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to support financial decision-making across global markets. Key initiatives include:

• Developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and data curation for model training and evaluation.
• Creating tools for LLM-powered search agents to manage complex queries and scale solutions for thousands of users.
• Prototyping and maintaining client-facing search and streaming applications using traditional ML and Generative AI.
• Building APIs for efficient search across diverse data collections, ensuring relevance and system reliability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions, develop production-quality search systems, and stay at the forefront of research in IR, NLP, and Generative AI.
