AKQA in London is seeking a Lead/Principal AI Engineer to design, build and deliver production‑grade AI systems and agentic workflows that power modern digital experiences across consumer apps, marketing platforms and enterprise tools.

The role is hands-on and leadership‑oriented, blending architectural guidance with coding across backend services, APIs and data pipelines, while collaborating with clients, design, strategy and product teams.

Competenze

• Architect and deploy production-grade AI systems, including agentic workflows.
• Lead the technical design of AI-powered digital products and platforms.
• Design and integrate MCP interfaces for enterprise systems and data stores.
• Develop AI architectures combining LLMs with specialised models, semantic search and deterministic workflows.

Mansioni

• Build backend services, APIs and integration layers with Python and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with frontend, product and UX teams to embed AI capabilities in web apps.
• Establish CI/CD, automated evaluations, and observability for AI deployments.
• Manage token usage, latency, caching, rate limits and graceful degradation.
