Job summary

SRG is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our developer productivity team in Manchester. This is a hands-on, hybrid role where you will build tooling and workflows to help engineers ship code faster and with evidence-backed results.

You will work with LLMs, coding agents, and open-source tools, designing evaluations and measuring impact in real codebases. Collaboration with platform teams and strong coding standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong professional software engineering experience for production systems.
• Excellent programming and software design skills with testing, CI/CD and code review.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, tool calling and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate production software, tooling and workflows for AI-enabled engineering.
• Measure results honestly and iterate based on evidence across real codebases.
• Apply AI coding tools and agents to improve software delivery without overpromising outcomes.
