Job summary

Burendo is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join a pragmatic delivery team. You will contribute to the full software lifecycle across client work, internal builds, and bids, with a strong emphasis on AI layers, LLM integration, and data pipelines.

You will work in cloud environments (AWS/Azure), design RAG architectures, and implement infrastructure as code while maintaining high-quality, maintainable code and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Fundamental coding experience in at least two of the following: Python, JavaScript, Node.js, C#, Java.
• Experience engineering AI-enabled products or systems with AI layers including LLMs, agents, APIs, data pipelines.
• Experience designing RAG architectures, retrieval strategies, chunking, grounding.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle across client work and internal projects.
• Work on AI engineering tasks including tool calls, memory management, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver pragmatic, high-quality solutions.
