Qualifications

• Strong professional software engineering experience.
• Excellent programming and software design skills.
• Hands-on experience building applications with LLM APIs.
• Understanding of how LLMs and coding agents fail.
• Day-to-day experience using AI coding tools on real codebases.
• Experience integrating with developer systems (Git, CI/CD, issue trackers).
• Ability to influence without direct authority.
• Pragmatic, experimental mindset.

Responsibilities

• Map engineering lifecycle to identify bottlenecks from idea to production.
• Establish baselines: cycle time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, time to restore.
• Review AI tools and drive those with clear value; close or replace non-valuable options.
• Design and run pilots for AI coding assistants and automated code review.
• Build and maintain integrations (CI/CD hooks, issue trackers, docs) for AI usage.
• Own the evaluation harness: test sets, regression checks, cost monitoring.
• Define safe AI usage, governance, and data security considerations.
• Coach engineers to adopt tooling and balance experimentation with risk.
• Build the business case and report ROI to leadership.
