Job summary

RSM UK is seeking a Senior AI Automation Engineer to join our Tax Technology team. You will build production-grade AI systems, implement multi-step workflows, and integrate AI-enabled tooling into enterprise platforms, delivering measurable outcomes in a governed environment.

You will design agents, develop Python services, orchestrate workflows across Copilot Studio and Azure AI, and lead technical design and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers.

Our Tax Technology team is dynamic, fast-paced and mission driven. We are building a specialist AI engineering capability within our internal tax technology function to design and deliver AI-powered agents, automated workflows, and scalable integrations across enterprise platforms. The Senior AI Automation Engineer role sits at the intersection of applied AI, software engineering, and automation. You will build production-grade AI systems, orchestrate complex workflows, and help define engineering standards, while supporting the development of early-career engineers.

This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on delivering working systems into production within a governed enterprise environment. You will see your work used quickly in real operations, with AI tools and automation adopted directly by internal tax teams. The focus is on delivering high-impact solutions, measuring outcomes, and iterating based on real-world usage.

Core Engineering

• Comfortable working across an AI-enabled stack, with depth in some areas and willingness to grow others

AI & Automation

• Experience building production AI/LLM applications, agents, or workflows (e.g. Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, or equivalent)
• Understanding of agent patterns, orchestration, tool use, and LLM limitations

Integration & APIs

• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, and system integration
• Experience building reusable services and connectors
• MCP or similar integration patterns desirable

Cloud & Platforms

• Microsoft Azure experience (AI services, Functions, containers)
• Exposure to Copilot Studio or similar ecosystems beneficial

DevOps & Delivery

• CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, automated testing
• Deployment, monitoring, and production reliability
• Containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes / Azure Container Apps)
