Job description

Lead. Inspire. Deliver.

Are you a passionate Agile leader with a talent for driving high-performing teams and delivering outstanding digital products? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where collaboration, innovation, and customer value are at the heart of everything you do?

If so, we want you on our team!

You’ll play a pivotal role in leading cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions. You’ll be the driving force behind Agile best practices, removing blockers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring smooth, efficient delivery.

Our teams deliver services that support some of the most vulnerable people in society. We want people who are motivated by that purpose.

We are looking for Agile Delivery Managers to work with Product Managers, technical experts, and data professionals to improve citizen experiences.

We have a few exciting opportunities across multiple teams, each playing a crucial role in shaping the future of digital services at DWP:

Health - 16 million people in the UK live with a health condition or disability. We aim to provide simple, responsive services that help people get the support they need to thrive and succeed. We are focused on transforming end-to-end journeys, not simply digitising existing processes. We create a better claimant experience when applying for benefits or getting support to find, remain, and succeed in work. We design, build, and deliver new services which enable major transformational programmes across DWP as well as maintaining and enhancing existing Health and Disability services.

Payments - We are the biggest payer in the UK, serving 22 million citizens, which is 34% of the total UK population, and make circa £276 billion in payments annually, generating 1/3 of the UK’s BACS traffic. We are delivering an ambitious transformation programme to reimagine and make the best use of emerging future technologies in the banking industry to ensure that people who get paid by DWP receive the right amount of money, at the right time, into the right bank account.

Chief Data Office - Leads DWP's Data Strategy and sets the Data Governance framework, enabling DWP to become a data-driven organisation whilst ensuring end-to-end governance for how we manage our data. Join us to support agile delivery and drive best practice, helping shape a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing culture across CDO.

You’ll join a thriving community of practice, where you'll share best practice, insights, and support with other talented, expert Agile Delivery Managers.

We’re looking for a candidate that will:

  • Champion Agile Delivery – Lead teams using Agile frameworks, ensuring efficiency and value-driven outcomes.
  • Drive High Performance – Motivate and mentor teams to work collaboratively, optimise workflows, and maximise productivity.
  • Remove Barriers – Identify and eliminate impediments, keeping teams focused and moving forward.
  • Engage Stakeholders – Build strong relationships with product owners, engineers, and business leaders to align goals and expectations.
  • Ensure Quality and Continuous Improvement – Foster a culture of feedback, learning, and iteration to enhance ways of working.
  • Data and Metrics – Use key Agile metrics and insights to drive decision-making and optimise delivery performance.
  • Leadership and Coaching - Lead and coach agile teams to foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
