Job summary

The Upstarts Club is seeking a Senior Agentic Software Engineer to drive an agent-first approach in a UK-based, remote-friendly environment. You will work with Python and TypeScript to design and own production systems, leveraging AI coding agents to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and security.

Experience with Django, React, PostgreSQL or AWS is a plus. Exceptional English communication and a track record of delivering high-impact software are essential.

We're recruiting a Senior Engineer for an ambitious LegalTech SaaS business that's rebuilding its engineering function around an agent-first model.

• Agent-first by default. Coding agents are already your primary method of delivering production software.
• Python AND TypeScript. Strong professional experience with both.
• Serious engineering credentials. You've built and owned complex production systems.
• Verification. You systematically test and validate agent-generated code using automated processes.
• Exceptional judgement. You can rapidly understand unfamiliar code, spot weaknesses and make the right technical calls.
• Problem decomposition. You turn complex requirements into precise, agent-executable tasks.
• Proven results. You can demonstrate meaningful productivity improvements without compromising quality.
• Outstanding English. You communicate clearly, write precisely and collaborate effectively.
