Job summary

Areti Group | B Corpe in London is seeking a hands-on Staff/Principal AI Engineer to shape how AI and coding agents are used across engineering. You’ll build platforms, write production code and drive developer tooling in a hybrid contract role.

Leading the implementation of Agentic AI, RAG workflows, and internal agent frameworks, you’ll influence engineering teams with strong technical judgement while delivering reusable capabilities, security, and quality across the software stack.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software engineering background.
• Experience building and shipping production systems.
• Hands-on coding in a modern software stack, preferably Python.

Responsibilities

• Build shared AI and developer-platform capabilities used by engineering teams.
• Create reusable tooling, SDKs, agent frameworks and engineering patterns.
• Use coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor in your workflow.
• Build and operate MCP, Agentic AI, RAG and multi-agent capabilities.
• Establish evaluation, testing and release controls for AI-generated software.
• Improve developer productivity, CI/CD, testing and repository quality.

Principal AI Engineer – Agentic AI / Developer Platforms

London | Hybrid | Contract

We’re partnering with a leading technology-driven organisation that is taking a genuinely progressive approach to AI within software engineering.

They’re looking for a hands-on Staff / Principal-level Engineer to help shape how AI and coding agents are used across their engineering function.

This is a role for someone who is an experienced software engineer first, with deep practical Agentic AI experience. You’ll still be writing code, building platforms and solving engineering problems yourself.

What you’ll be doing

• Building shared AI and developer-platform capabilities used by engineering teams
• Creating reusable tooling, SDKs, agent frameworks and engineering patterns
• Using coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor extensively within your own development workflow
• Building and operating MCP, Agentic AI, RAG and multi-agent capabilities
• Establishing evaluation, testing and release controls for AI-generated software
• Improving developer productivity, CI/CD, testing and repository quality
• Designing for enterprise requirements around security, identity, auditability, data integrity and compliance
• Influencing engineering teams through working software and strong technical judgement

What we’re looking for

We’re particularly interested in engineers who have a strong commercial software engineering background and can demonstrate that they have personally built and shipped production systems.
