Job summary

F.P.T. Industries Ltd, part of the DART Aerospace Group, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at its Portsmouth site. You will impact manufacturing processes, quality, productivity and industrialisation, spanning NPI and existing programmes.

You’ll apply Lean and data-driven problem solving, lead improvement initiatives, and collaborate across Engineering, Quality and Operations to enable successful bids and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Manufacturing/Production/Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years supporting NPI and/or sustaining programmes.
• Experience in aerospace industry.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace standards.
• Proven process improvements in manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Experience leading projects and structured problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve and sustain robust manufacturing processes.
• Drive quality, throughput, yield and cost improvements.
• Lead DMAIC projects and data-driven problem solving.
• Apply Lean principles to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
• Support NPI programmes through lifecycle stages (PDR/CDR/PRR).
• Ensure manufacturing readiness and meet delivery and cost targets.
• Lead manufacturing risk reduction using APQP/PPAP.
• Define facility/equipment requirements and new production capabilities.
• Create and approve process specs and SOPs.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, engineering, quality and operations.
• Develop SAP routings and support FAI activities.
• Identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
