The Position

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced aerodynamicist to join our Aerodynamics department at Williams Racing in Grove, Oxfordshire. This role offers a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their career and leverage their experience to influence the performance of Williams' future F1 race cars.

Within the aerodynamic group, you will demonstrate your understanding of race car aerodynamics across all environments (CFD, Wind Tunnel, and track) to optimize development approaches and enhance the long-term aerodynamic performance of the race car.

As Senior Aerodynamicist, you will:

• Develop innovative aerodynamic concepts using appropriate tools and technologies to realize your vision in testing.
• Mentor junior aerodynamicists, guiding their skill development and work quality.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the aerodynamics department.
• Collaborate with your team to identify tools and technologies to increase development efficiency.
• Assist in planning and executing Wind Tunnel tests to ensure maximum accuracy and efficiency.
• Analyze CFD and Wind Tunnel results to establish robust aerodynamic solutions and recommendations.
• Maintain positive relationships across the department and wider Williams team through clear communication and information sharing.

Our ideal Aerodynamicist will have the following:

• Experience working within aerodynamics in a Formula 1 team.
• Proficiency with CFD and Wind Tunnel techniques.
• Advanced understanding of aerodynamic fundamentals.
• Skills in using CAD and CFD software.
• Ability to deliver outcomes under strict deadlines through problem-solving skills.
• Experience in in-depth analysis of results, correlation investigations, and innovative data use.
• Strong influence to gain buy-in and foster collaboration across departments.
• Willingness to challenge current methods and theories.
