Job Description

Ashurst's Privacy and Tech Regulatory (PTR) team, within the firm's Risk and Compliance department and aligned with the firm's CISO function, advises on internal privacy and data regulatory requirements.

You will support the Risk & Compliance objectives related to data and technology to ensure compliance and facilitate the firm's data strategy.

Based in Glasgow, this role supports the global privacy and tech regulatory strategy of an international law firm across four continents. Ashurst's investment in the PTR Team aims to:

  • Strengthen the Risk & Compliance Framework;
  • Support strategic projects like digitalisation, data foundation maturity, and the Ashurst Security and Privacy Strategy 2025-2027.

The Risk & Compliance team is business-oriented, focusing on adding value to the firm and its clients.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of EU data privacy and protection laws; familiarity with other privacy frameworks is a plus.
  • At least four years' experience in data privacy compliance within large international organizations, either in private practice or in-house.
  • Ability to translate privacy requirements into clear guidance.
  • Experience managing large, long-term projects with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence across all organizational levels.
