Positions Available

Full-time or Part-time, 2x Continuing Positions based at the Melbourne CBD campus, with hybrid working arrangements (minimum of 2 days in the office).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, People and Workplace Relations to join our People and Workplace Relations team. This role provides high-level support and expertise on workplace relations matters, managing cases to ensure positive outcomes for staff and the University community.

You will support our people leaders in navigating industrial disputes, performance management, misconduct, organisational change, and complaint management, fostering a positive work environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about workplace culture and experienced in managing complex employee relations issues within large organizations.

About You
  • Knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 and familiarity with RMIT University’s enterprise agreements and policies.
  • Experience in case management and resolving industrial disputes.
  • Understanding of procedural fairness and natural justice principles.
  • Experience advising on employee relations matters such as performance, misconduct, disputes, change management, grievances, and terminations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience negotiating with unions, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Ability to develop and implement solutions for workplace issues, including early intervention and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Knowledge of contemporary HR practices, including performance management and organizational change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively at all levels.
