A leading university is seeking a Senior Advisor (Pedagogy and Practice) to enhance academic staff development and support equity in education outcomes. The successful candidate will design and deliver training programs, collaborate across departments, and lead initiatives to foster inclusive teaching practices.
Full Time (37 hrs per week) - Fixed Term Contract (9 months) - High Wycombe
Salary - £44,128 - £55,755

The Senior Advisor (Pedagogy and Practice) will support the Director of Learning Enhancement and Academic Practice in delivering high-quality staff academic development, support, and training. BNU is committed to being a ‘learning organisation’ with new expectations for all academic staff to engage in effective academic development. The role supports the implementation of the institutional Access and Participation Plan, focusing on reducing inequity in student outcomes.
The Senior Advisor will play a key role in designing and delivering the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP), our core in-house training for academic staff. The role also involves delivering standalone staff development activities, supporting curriculum design, assessment practices, and leading the AdvanceHE Fellowship accreditation programme to support staff in achieving fellowship levels.
On a daily basis, they will work with academic staff to identify development needs, design and deliver academic development activities, assess academic work and fellowship applications, and provide pedagogical expertise. Collaboration with other Senior Advisors, the LEAP directorate team, and university departments (e.g., Academic Quality, Academic Colleges) is essential to ensure high-quality staff development.
