Job summary

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner for the Older Adult Inpatient Team at the Julian Hospital. You will lead advanced nursing practice, conduct comprehensive assessments, and drive high-quality, person-centred care for older adults with complex mental health needs.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, provide leadership to nursing staff, and contribute to service development while upholding professional standards

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant subject
• Recognised leadership qualification or equivalent experience
• Recognised teaching/assessing qualification
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Approved clinician

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care for older adult service users in inpatient mental health services.
• Undertake comprehensive history taking and develop person-centred care plans.
• Demonstrate expert clinical decision-making and utilise advanced diagnostic skills in complex health needs.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and medical teams to deliver safe, high-quality care.
• Prescribe medication and monitor treatment plans in line with policies.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision and guidance to nursing staff.
• Support evidence-based practice and contribute to service development and quality improvement.
• Participate in ward reviews, risk management and safeguarding processes.
