Job summary

A healthcare provider is seeking a Senior Adults Safeguarding Practitioner to join their safeguarding team. This full-time role requires expertise in adult safeguarding with a focus on multidisciplinary teamwork and excellent communication skills. Candidates should be qualified health professionals with over two years of relevant experience. The position is based across Trafford General Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital.

Qualifications

  • Current professional NMC/SW England/HCPC registration.
  • Over 2 years’ work experience and knowledge within safeguarding.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and coordinating safeguarding procedures within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attending strategy meetings; working within both acute and community settings.

Overview

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a new band 7 Adult Safeguarding Practitioner to join our safeguarding team. This is a senior role that requires expertise in adult safeguarding.

Education, qualifications and knowledge
  • Current professional NMC/SW England/HCPC registration.
  • Qualified Nurse, Social Worker, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
  • Over 2 years’ work experience and knowledge within safeguarding
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and training in safeguarding to minimum Level 3 (as per Intercollegiate Document)
  • Experience of working within healthcare/the NHS
  • Teaching qualification or demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training to key professionals
  • Qualified Best Interest Assessor
Knowledge and experience
  • Specialist knowledge of adult safeguarding practice and legislation
  • Knowledge of local and national policies relating to safeguarding adults at risk and NHS policy initiatives
  • Experience of implementing and coordinating safeguarding procedures within a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Experience in a senior clinical position
  • Evidence of teamwork and education program development for the multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of multi-agency working and research activities
  • Experience attending strategy meetings; working within both acute and community settings
  • Experience of multidisciplinary audit and delivering safeguarding supervision
  • Experience in managing change and leading practice innovation
Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for safeguarding proceedings
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise, work flexibly and meet deadlines
  • Expert practitioner in safeguarding adult at risk provision
