Job description

Overarching aims of the CDCT are to improve outcomes for populations who have been subject to repeated adverse experiences and traumatic events. The CDCT has a growing portfolio of research, CPD, and postgraduate courses, as well as hosting an international conference programme.

The role will be responsible for providing administrative support to our postgraduate course programme, run in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences, University of Buckingham. The post holder will work closely with the CDCT and University team to ensure the smooth running of courses. Additionally, they will support the development and management of our international conference programme, including liaising with international speakers and overseeing IT aspects of conference events.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Knowledge of TEAMS, ZOOM webinars, and Microsoft packages, as well as the ability to liaise with individuals across the academic spectrum, are key requirements. Effective workload management and knowing when to escalate conflicting priorities are also essential skills.

The core aims of the Centre are the advancement of clinical practice to achieve better outcomes for people who have experienced repeated trauma. The Centre operates according to three broad principles:

  • To bridge the gap between academic knowledge and clinical practice
  • To increase awareness of trauma experiences and care needs for the most marginalized sections of society

Hours: 30 hours per week (4 days)

The Role & Person

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Centre for Developmental and Complex Trauma (CDCT) to recruit a Course Administrator for Postgraduate Programmes and Conference Administration. This is a senior administrative position.

The post holder will be a key member of a supportive team within the Academic part of the Education, Research, and Training unit. The role involves recognizing the whole-person impact of trauma and placing those affected at the centre of activities to improve service effectiveness. This will be achieved through research, hosting CPD events, and influencing national policy to reflect the needs of our populations. The role also involves supporting the development of models of care based on research, employing people with lived experience, and providing comprehensive training to promote survivor research quality.

Our programmes will focus on populations that are typically excluded or have limited access to trauma services, informing and influencing national policy through CPD, service evaluation, and research activities.
