Job description

Senior Administrator - Medical Secretary

The following responsibilities are examples; please refer to the attached Job Description for the complete details. The role involves generic administrative activities such as:

  1. Dealing with answer machine messages and responding to letters and emails.
  2. Checking and taking the post.
  3. Liaising with other departments and sites across North Yorkshire.
  4. Ordering supplies.
  5. Managing calendars, including organising meetings and events.
  6. Taking minutes.
  7. Data input, files, and documentation preparation (e.g., case notes).
  8. Photocopying and filing.

You will act as a point of contact on behalf of the consultant and medical team for service users, carers, and visitors, responding to enquiries in a patient and helpful manner. The role requires interacting compassionately with service users and carers at all times, promoting a positive image of the mental health service, the Trust, and the people accessing our services.
