Job description

Aspris Talocher School is recruiting for a full-time Senior Administrator to join our dedicated and talented education administration team.

About Talocher School:

Talocher School is a specialist school for girls and boys aged 7 to 19 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Some students also have an ASC diagnosis. We currently have registration for 60 students. The school provides a warm, welcoming, and flexible environment for young people who are unable to attend mainstream education due to their additional learning needs.

The Role:

As Senior Administrator, your role will be to ensure that the school's administration operations run smoothly. This includes line management of the current administration and catering teams. You will manage business administration functions such as payroll, finance, HR, H&S, transport, and fleet coordination, with support from the Head teacher and Regional Business Manager.

This is a fast-paced and demanding role, but also one where you can flourish in your career and feel rewarded by helping those who need it most.

Main Duties:
  1. Line manage the administration and catering teams to ensure high standards and timely delivery of administrative tasks and services.
  2. Ensure effective operation of administrative processes, prioritizing enquiries and issues appropriately.
  3. Supervise, coach, and support less experienced staff in administrative duties.
  4. Assist in developing and maintaining administrative systems, including record keeping and filing.
  5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including site-based staff and central services like Finance, HR, and Recruitment.
  6. Support the recruitment process by providing administrative assistance, conducting pre-employment checks, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  7. Maintain the confidentiality and security of personal and employment records in line with policies and legislation.
  8. Oversee financial administration, including handling invoices, petty cash, transaction checks, and reconciliations.
  9. Process local payroll accurately and timely.
  10. Support the Regional Business Manager with daily administrative queries.
