Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Advanced Specialist Pharmacist in Acute and Emergency Medicine at the Royal Stoke site. You will deliver a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to high-acuity and complex patients across the Acute Medical Unit, AMRA, AEC, SSU and the Emergency Department.

You will train and develop junior pharmacists, work with the multidisciplinary team, and contribute to service development with independent prescribing and guideline

Qualifications

• GPhC registration as a pharmacist.
• Postgraduate clinical qualifications listed above.
• Management/leadership qualifications may be present.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy services in Acute/Emergency Medicine.
• Prioritise high-risk patients and ensure timely prescribing and administration.
• Utilise independent prescribing within scope.
• Provide prescribing support for complex medicines.
• Support discharge medicines across hours.
• Review adverse incidents and mitigate future risk.
• Develop and review guidelines and PGDs.
• Line manage and train junior pharmacists.
• Collaborate with the Advanced Lead Pharmacist on service development.
