Job summary

Central East Integrated Care Board (ICB) is seeking a Lead Actuary to guide the actuarial discipline across its Strategic Value Unit. You will translate complex population health data into practical strategic recommendations for planning, commissioning and financial stewardship.

The role demands senior technical leadership, robust modelling, and clear communication with non-technical stakeholders. Applicants should be Fellows of the IFoA with healthcare experience and be prepared for interview

Qualifications

Qualified actuary with Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Experience leading complex actuarial work in healthcare or public services.
Experience developing forecasts and risk models.
Experience leading staff and setting technical standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the actuarial discipline within the Strategic Value Unit.
Develop long-term forecasts and assumptions reflecting demographic change and cost trends.
Advise on budgets, payment and risk-sharing arrangements.
Ensure modelling standards and robust validation.
Coordinate cross-functional communications to decision-makers.
Line manage staff and develop capability.
