We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Actuary to join our dynamic pricing team in Europe. The position is part of an international team responsible for markets in Europe, with a strong focus on the UK market. This is an exciting opportunity to lead pricing strategies, influence decision-making, and contribute to the ongoing success of our organization. As a Senior Actuary, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions, ensuring the organization remains competitive in the market.

What you do

1. Pricing Strategy Development: Lead the development and refinement of pricing models, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Identify market trends and recommend adjustments to pricing strategies to optimize profitability and competitiveness.
2. Data Analysis and Modeling: Utilize advanced actuarial techniques and predictive analytics to assess risk and model pricing scenarios. Collaborate with data scientists within the team to enhance pricing accuracy through machine learning and other innovative methodologies.
3. Stakeholder Management: Act as a key advisor on pricing-related matters, supporting decision-making at an executive level.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pricing practices comply with relevant regulatory and industry standards. Stay informed on changes to regulatory frameworks and assess their impact on pricing strategies.
5. Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior actuaries within the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Lead project teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor portfolio performance and recommend adjustments to pricing structures as needed. Conduct regular reviews of pricing models to ensure they remain robust and fit for purpose.

What you bring

1. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a pricing-focused actuarial role, ideally within the insurance or reinsurance sector. Proven track record of delivering pricing strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
2. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in actuarial modeling software and tools (e.g., Emblem, Radar, Python, and equivalents). Strong understanding of statistical and predictive modeling techniques. Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and Solvency II.
3. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts for non-technical audiences. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience mentoring and developing junior professionals.
4. Analytical Mindset: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic and commercial outlook.

Preferred Qualifications and Attributes

1. Experience with pricing in a travel line of business.
2. Familiarity with emerging technologies and their application in pricing (e.g., AI, machine learning).
3. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
4. Preferred location is the UK but open to other EU countries.
