Job summary

The Emerald Group Ltd, Search and Selection is seeking an experienced actuary to lead financial reporting and valuation activities in Reading. The role focuses on Solvency II and IFRS reporting, sophisticated cashflow projections, and maintaining actuarial models using Mo.Net, Excel, KNIME and BI tools.

You will engage with stakeholders to assess value changes, develop robust reporting systems, and drive automation to improve management information and decision making.

Qualifications

• Nearly or qualified actuary with at least 8 years work experience.
• Strong technical competence in financial reporting of Protection products e.g. Solvency II, IFRS, or comparable.
• Experience using data analytics and automation tools (SQL, R, Python, Power BI, KNIME) to improve actuarial and financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial reporting process to ensure value and financial performance with clear outputs for stakeholders.
• Engage with key stakeholders on the value of the business and changes to value.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting systems and methodologies to be robust and well-controlled, automated where appropriate.
• Maintain and develop the Valuation Basis through regular business monitoring and investigations; feed into the Pricing Basis
• Maintain and develop Financial Models for planning and forecasting aligned with governance and strategy.
• Maintain and develop the Actuarial Model and related tools (Mo.Net, Excel, KNIME) to improve automation and reporting workflows.
