Senior / Principal Acoustic Consultant – Infrastructure Projects

Location: Leeds
Full-Time | Hybrid (Primarily office-based in Leeds)

Penguin Recruitment is excited to be hiring on behalf of a leading UK environmental consultancy for a Senior or Principal Acoustic Consultant to join their growing infrastructure team in Leeds.

The Role

Based in Leeds, this role involves delivering high-quality acoustic assessments for nationally significant infrastructure projects including DCOs, EIAs, and complex multi-disciplinary planning submissions across road, rail, and airport sectors.

You will:

  • Lead or support noise modelling, assessment, and reporting

  • Contribute to planning strategies and stakeholder engagement

  • Mentor junior staff and collaborate with technical teams

  • Help shape noise frameworks for major UK infrastructure schemes

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with a background in environmental acoustics, particularly those with experience in infrastructure projects. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Strong acoustic modelling and data interpretation skills

  • Experience with road, rail, or airport schemes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Knowledge of UK noise regulations

  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach

  • A full UK driving licence is desirable

Postgraduate qualifications or chartership are a plus, but not essential.
