This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Accounts Assistant to join us on a 12-month FTC. This person will demonstrate their willingness to grow and further their career and to join a consultancy and professional services company undergoing strong growth.

The ideal candidate will be someone seeking to take their next step in their finance career within a commercial business. They will want to gain experience at an intermediate level within a team and build on their knowledge, preferably from education and prior roles. The role is hands-on, transactional, and pivotal to the proper running of the company’s finance function. The candidate must be highly organized, able to manage multiple processes efficiently and accurately. The main function is to provide financial accounting support to the Financial Accountant and CFO.

Requirements

  • Updating management spreadsheets and controlling invoicing processes
  • Filing of consultant and supplier invoices, correspondence, and general filing
  • Dealing with queries from suppliers and liaising with staff across the business to resolve issues
  • Supporting the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance with ad-hoc duties
  • Posting journals relating to bank transactions
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Assisting with statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, and IR35 Intermediary reporting
  • Assisting with 18-day cash flow forecast
  • Calculating annual PAYE settlement and P11D(b)
  • Preparing corporation tax returns
  • Assisting with IR35 Intermediary reporting
  • Undertaking other reasonable management requests
  • Assisting the CFO in preparing for annual audits
  • Ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Managing nominal ledger input, journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Posting & reconciliation of monthly billing, purchase ledger, and leased purchase records
  • Completing bank account reconciliations
  • Maintaining standing data for Sage, Payroll, VAT systems
  • Monthly Balance Sheet/control account reconciliations
  • Up-to-date fixed assets and depreciation records

This role requires or will require Security Clearance. Candidates will need to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check, details of which can be found on the government website. If unable to meet these criteria, employment may be delayed or rejected. Details will be discussed at interview.
